Yannis Manios is a Professor in the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, School of Health Science & Education at Harokopio University in Athens. His research interests focus on the nutritional assessment, designing and implementation of interventions and clinical trials for children and adults aiming to improve health indices and health-related behaviors to prevent obesity, cardiometabolic risk factors and osteoporosis. Since 2001 he has been actively involved as a Principal Investigator in national and European programs. He is currently the coordinator for the DigiCare4You-study (H2020). He has over 630 scientific papers published in international scientific journals with more than 36,732 citations (h-index 73), and he has also received 11 awards for his scientific work from national and international organizations. He has been a member of the ILSI Europe Expert Group (since 2010), of the Scientific Committee for the development of “Greek Nutritional Guidelines” for children and adults coordinated by Prolepsis Institute and funded by the Greek Ministry of Health (since 2012), of the Joint Action “Knowledge Hub on DEterminants of DIet and Physical Activity” (DEDIPAC-KH) (since 2013), of the Scientific Committee of the National Network of Healthy Municipalities & Cities-Health Promotion (since 2011), of the Scientific Group for the National Nutritional Policy of Greece (since 2011) as well as of the National Public Health Council (2011–2014).
