Emiliano Schena received a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the UCBM in 2009, where he is currently an Full Professor. He was a Former Chair at the IEEE Italy Sensors Chapter from 2018 to January 2023. His main research interests include wearable systems for monitoring physiological parameters, the application of fiber optic sensors in medicine, and laser ablation for cancer removal. Emiliano Schena is the Rector's delegate for the Research Valorization and Campus Academy, the Course Director of the “Biomedical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Course”, an IEEE Senior member, a Counsellor of the IEEE Student Branch of Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, and a Co-Founder of HEREMOS s.r.l.
