He graduated in electrical engineering in 1987, has had a doctorate since 1990, and has been full professor since 1993 at Gh. Asachi Technical University in Iasi. The doctoral thesis had as its main topic the calculation of the form factors for the light reflection between the two surfaces. Lately, he has specialized in reducing light pollution through imaging measurements of luminance. He has examined the reflection of the facades in order to optimize architectural lighting simultaneously with the reduction of the light pollution. He promoted the design of interior lighting systems based on the contrast of luminances. Generalized modeling in MATLAB for reflections between any surfaces is still a working method.
