Hehuang Xie is a Professor of Epigenomics at the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology, Virginia Tech. The Epigenetics and Computational Laboratory led by Xie combines multidisciplinary approaches to study epigenetic regulatory networks associated with tissue development and cell specification. His lab has developed high-throughput techniques such as a hairpin bisulfite sequencing approach to generate large-scale “omics” data. Additionally, the lab has also implemented several computational pipelines to perform single-cell “omics” data integration. The combined experimental and computational approaches have been utilized to understand how the epigenomic/epitranscriptomic aberrations contribute to the genesis and progression of human diseases.
