I apply epidemiologic methods and next-generation DNA sequencing to refine our understanding of the spatial and temporal transmission of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and zoonotic infectious diseases. I have worked in a variety of countries in Latin America, Asia and Africa, and have extensive experience working on the US-México border where I conducted research on the primary prevention of diarrheal diseases and pneumonia within informal settlements of Ciudad Juárez, MX. Much of my recent work has focused on research to prevent and control the spread of antimicrobial resistance.
