Antonio Emmanuele Uva received an M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Bari, Bari, Italy, and a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Naples, Naples, Italy. He has been an Associate Professor with the Department of Mechanics, Mathematics, and Management, Polytechnic Institute of Bari. Since 2003, he has been a member of the Centre of Excellence for Computational Mechanics of the Polytechnic Institute of Bari. He has authored/coauthored more than 50 papers in international journals, book chapters, and international conferences, and he currently serves as an invited expert for the European Commission as regards interactive technologies. His research interests include CAD, human–computer interaction, virtual and augmented reality, and bioengineering.
