Increased manufacturing activity has an impact on environmental quality degradation. Waste generated from manufacturing activities is one of the causes. Previous studies have referred to this waste as value uncaptured. Minimizing value uncaptured is a solution to improve environmental quality. This study aims to reduce value uncaptured by converting it into value captured. This process requires a value proposition design approach because of its advantages. One of the advantages of this approach is that it can improve existing or future products/services. To do so, this research uses a case study of a furniture company. To implement a converting process, a sustainable business model is proposed to solve this problem. This business model combines several methods: value proposition design, house of value and the product sustainability index matrix. Recently, the existing value proposition problem-solving has been using the value proposition design method. This research proposed implementing a house of value to replace the fitting process. The questionnaire is developed to obtain various value uncaptured in the company. To the weight of the value uncaptured, this research utilized the pairwise comparison method. Then, the weights could represent the importance of jobs. Based on the highest weight of these jobs, the alternative gains would be selected. To provide the weight of the gain creators and value captured, the house of value method is developed. Referring to three pillars of sustainability, the value captured should be considered. This research proposed implementing a product sustainability index which in turn produces eco-friendly products. This study produces “eco-friendly products” as sustainability value captured. The sustainability business model could be an alternative policy to minimize the existence of value uncaptured.

Remanufacturing is a process that usually result in a used product being as good as new. However, not all customers view remanufactured products as similar to new products. Some customers perceive remanufactured products to be inferior in terms of quality compared to new products. In such cases, there is usually a segmentation of markets for new and remanufactured products. This paper focused on the impact of having segmented markets for new and remanufactured products. By developing systems dynamics models, the paper investigated the impact of having a downward substitution policy between new and remanufactured products on the Bullwhip effect in a closed-loop system that permits not only end of life returns but also returns between supply chain players. The findings of this research suggest that, splitting the market in the presence of other returns increased the Bullwhip effect. An interesting finding was that introducing a downward substitution to a split market reduced the Bullwhip effect but not to the level it was before the market was split. The findings of this paper provided some useful managerial insights on the remanufacturing and supply chain dynamics as measured by the Bullwhip effect.

Bagi sebagian besar UMKM, penyusunan laporan keuangan adalah momok yang menakutkan sekaligus tidak dapat dihindari. Banyak pelaku usaha yang mengeluh bahwa seringkali laporan keuangan yang disusun, realitanya berbeda dengan ketersediaan uang yang dikelola. Pengabdian masyarakat ini akan membantu para pelaku usaha dalam menyusun laporan keuangan sederhana yang dibantu dengan sistem aplikasi pada smartphone menggunakan teknologi cloud. Mitra dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah para pelaku UMKM yang berdomisili di Kota Surabaya, Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Adapun model pelatihan dan pendampingan yang dilakukan terdiri dari aktivitas : (1) Pelatihan Penentuan Harga Pokok Produksi dan Penyusunan Laporan Keuangan Manual, (2) Pelatihan Penyusunan Laporan Keuangan dan Arus Kas Menggunakan Microsoft Excel, (3) Pelatihan Penyusunan Laporan Keuangan Menggunakan Aneka Aplikasi Berbasis Cloud, dan (4) Pendampingan Usaha (Klinik Bisnis). Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif bagi pelaku usaha, karena setelah mengikuti program pelatihan dan pendampingan mereka tidak lagi kesulitan dalam mengelola laporan keuangannya dan dapat fokus mengembangkan bisnisnya lebih lanjut. Melalui bantuan aplikasi keuangan berbasis cloud, pelaku UMKM dapat merasakan kemudahan-kemudahan dalam hal mengetahui jumlah keuntungan/kerugian usaha secara tepat, mengetahui status kemajuan usaha dengan cepat dan terukur, memudahkan dalam menentukan perencanaan usaha, dan memiliki dasar yang kuat dalam pengambilan keputusan bisnis.

In the oil and gas processing area, adequate risk control should be prearranged to prevent serious accidents, such as major gas leak, fire, and explosion. Installing gas detectors at appropriate technology is one of indispensable conditions for an implementation of risk reduction measures. Open-path infrared and ultrasonic leak gas detector provide wide coverage of gas detection. This capability is advantageous to detect unintentionally gas release in wide coverage and windy-climate processing area. On the other hand, the installation and maintenance cost of those gas detectors are relatively high compared to point infrared and catalytic gas detector. Gaussian fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (Gaussian FAHP) is implemented to evaluate the selection of gas detector technology in terms of benefit, cost and risk criteria. Ten expert panelists from production, safety, and maintenance departments are involved in Delphi Technique to assess the sub-criteria of Gaussian FAHP. The Gaussian FAHP evaluation reveals that point infrared gas detector has the highest value among all gas detector technologies. Seakeeping, especially for the roll motions, is of critical importance to the safe operation of fishing boats in Indonesia. In this study, a traditional East Java Fishing Boat (EJFB) has been analysed in terms of its seakeeping performance. Furthermore, a bilge keel was designed to reduce the roll motions of the EJFB using multiple stages approach. After installing the designed bilge keels, it was shown that up to 11.78% and 4.87% reduction in the roll response of irregular seaways and the total resistance under the design speed, respectively. It was concluded that the roll-stabilized-EJFB will enhance the well-being of the fisherman and contribute to the boats' safe operation, especially in extreme weather conditions. Moreover, the total resistance reduction of the EJFB due to the installation of the designed bilge keels also resulted in increased operational efficiency and reduced fuel costs and fuel emissions for local stakeholders.

Waste collection and disposal become a major problem for many metropolitan cities. Growing population, limited vehicles, and increased road traffic make the waste transportation become more complex. Waste collection involves some key considerations, such as vehicle assignment, vehicle routes, and vehicle scheduling. In the scheduling process, each vehicle has a scheduled departure that serve each route. Therefore, vehicle's assignments should consider the time required to finish one assigment on that route. The objective of this study is to minimize the number of vehicles needed to serve all routes by developing a mathematical model which uses assignment problem approach. The first step is to generated possible routes from the existing routes, followed by vehicle assignments for those certain routes. The result of the model shows fewer vehicles required to perform waste collection asa well as the the number of journeys that the vehicle to collect the waste to the landfill. The comparison of existing conditions with the model result indicates that the latter's has better condition than the existing condition because each vehicle with certain route has an equal workload, all the result's model has the maximum of two journeys for each route.

Every year, the committing officer, then called as PPK, as the manager of the owner construction project in the local government and its team often handles more than 50 (fifty) construction projects termed “multi construction projects”. This study aims to identify the design needs of monitoring and controlling multi-construction projects system in the local government in order to be developed as a reference needs of monitoring and controlling system software. This study began by identifying the needs of PPK and stakeholders through interviews related to the system software that will be developed. The interview results were then grouped and described as “customer requirement attributes” and then made the “importance” level values of those attributes as a questionnaire. The quality result concluded that all customer requirements attributes were considered important with the total score range at 123–171 from the “importance” standard score is 105. Then a functional requirement was made for each customer requirement and analyzed using a method adopted from house of quality (HoQ) with final results are; the highest percentage from 36 (thirty six) of the relative importance weight from functional requirements is 6.42 percent and the lowest is 1.24 percent with 5 (five) highest sequences are 4.78 percent-6.42 percent.

Indonesian government, in period 2014-2019, has launched Toll Sea program. A number of 188 various sizes and types of ships types will be built for this program. Ship building process must be supported by a national shipbuilding capability and capacity. Unfortunately, there are any vagueness of information on the number of shipyards and their production capacity. The records of data and shipyard production capabilities and also capacity haven’t been documented well. Moreover, there are many new and emerging shipyards although some become bankruptcy. Analyzing the production capacity of national shipyards to build Sea Toll vessels has become the aims of this research. The first step is grouping ships based on GT size. Afterwards, the weight of the steel is estimated using Watson equations. Determination of shipyard criteria is created regarding the size of building birth facility, main workshop productions, experience to build sea toll ship, the number of man-powers, and the existence of ISO and OHSAS certificate. In accordance with the steel through put of the shipyards, it can be conclude that 64 sea toll ships can be built in a year with estimation about 26,767,29 ton/year.

The purpose of this study is to select the appropriate high quality-strong-durable type of glue for bamboo laminated composite to substitute Teak wood as an alternative material for fishing boat construction. Tape Test and Pull Off Test according to ASTM D3359 and ASTM D4541 are applied on substrates of Betung laminated bamboo (Dendrocalamus Asper species) in order to determine the strength level of adhesiveness. Four types of glue are applied to bamboo laminated substrate. Having analyzed the experiment results, it indicates that Epoxy Polyamide has the highest adhesion value comparing to others. The Tape Test grades for Epoxy Polyamide are 5A (no glue peeling) and 5B (0% glue chipped extension) as well as the score of Pull Off Test is 7.92 MPa. In terms of construction cost for building fishing boat 20GT (laminated bamboo) using epoxy polyamide is a half compared to Teak wood material.

Berdasarkan hasil observasi, ditemukan bahwa Biro Pengadaaan dan Bidang Komersial memiliki peranan penting dalam perusahaan yang berfungsi dalam mengatur logistik dan rantai pasok untuk meningkatkan daya saing perusahaan. Selain itu perusahaan belum memiliki kamus kompetensi karenakan baru saja melakukan restrukturisasi. Untuk meningkatkan performa dari Manajer Biro Pengadaaan dan Manajer Bidang Komersial pada perusahaan penelitian bertujuan menyusun sebuah kamus kompetensi untuk pemangku jabatan pada Manajer Biro Pengadaaan dan Manajer Bidang Komersial dan mengidentifikasi kompetensi untuk pemangku jabatan tersebut. Kompetensi yang dibutuhkan didapatkan dari studi literatur yang kemudian dilakukan penyesuaian melalui kuisinoer dan wawancara. Mulanya terdapat 125 kompetensi yang dibutuhkan, setelah divalidasi ditemukan terdapat 49 kompetensi. Kemudian penulis membuat kamus kompetensi dengan metode wawancara dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dengan melihat pola Kamus Kompetensi Spencer. Langkah selanjutnya adalah mengidentifikasi tingkat kacakapan / level dari pemangku jabatan berdasarkan kamus kompetensi yang sudah dibuat yang disajikan dalam bentuk matriks Job Competency Level. Dari penelitian ini menghasilkan Kamus Kompetensi dan matriks Job Competency Level untuk jabatan Manajer Biro Pengadaaan dan Manajer Bidang Komersial PT Barata Indonesia (Persero).

Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) merupakan salah satu elemen penting dalam perekonomian suatu negara. keberhasilan UMKM memiliki dampak langsung terhadap pembangunan ekonomi baik pada negara maju maupun negara berkembang, tidak terkecuali Indonesia. Dari tahun 2009 sampai tahun 2012, jumlah UMKM di Indonesia terus meningkat hingga mencapai angka 56,6 juta. Hal tersebut menjadikan UMKM sebagai penopang perekonomian nasional. Peningkatan jumlah UMKM juga terjadi di Kota Surabaya. Peningkatan jumlah UMKM di Surabaya membuat persaingan menjadi semakin kompetitif, sehingga UMKM harus memiliki strategi marketing yang baik agar bisa bersaing. Salah satu strategi marketing yang bisa digunakan oleh UMKM di Surabaya adalah dengan memanfaatkan social media sebagai alat pemasaran. Namun, masih sedikit UMKM di Kota Surabaya terutama UMKM binaan pemerintah yang menggunakan social media untuk memsarkan dan mempromosikan produk mereka. Dinas Perdagangan dan Perindustrian (Disperdagin) Kota Surabaya selaku biro pemerintah yang menaungi UMKM di Surabaya kemudian berinisiatif untuk membantu UMKM binaan dengan melakukan promosi menggunakan social media yang akan dikelola oleh Disperdagin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi social media yang tepat bagi Disperdagin Kota Surabaya, Kemudian membuat rancangan implementasi social media marketing bagi Disperdagin untuk branding UMKM, dan yang terakhir merancang panduan operasional social media marketing yang efektif bagi Disperdagin untuk branding UMKM binaan. Metode yang digunakan mengadopsi model House of Quality (HOQ). Hasil dari penelitian ini yakni ada tiga social media yang sesuai untuk digunakan oleh Disperdagin yaitu Facebook, Twitter dan Instagram. Selain itu, dari hasil analisis juga didapati 15 poin rencana aksi social media marketing yang bisa dijadikan landasan dalam pembuatan dan pengelolaan akun social media oleh Disperdagin.

The impact of organisational culture on firm performance has been well documented. Previous studies on the impact of organisational culture derived from its national culture have been conducted in homogenous cultures. Little attention has been given to the impact of organisational culture derived from Indonesian culture on firm performance. Indonesia's subcultures may not be represented in the national culture. This study examines the impact of organisational culture on firm performance among Indonesia manufacturing firms. Results from 152 organisations confirm that organisational culture has significant effect on firm performance. Only individualism and uncertainty avoidance significantly impact firm performance. The implication is that, even in a country with many subcultures, firms' top management still need to pay attention to the impact of national culture at organisational level. Furthermore, since Indonesia has a very low score on individualism, managers need to create a conducive and rewarding environment for individuals to contribute.

Lack of the buying power of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in purchasing their raw material could hinder their competitiveness. The low buying power generally caused by the fact that SMEs purchase their raw material in small lot. Purchasing consortium offers SMEs to increase their buying power and obtain better pricing through the collective buying mechanism amongst SMEs. This paper proposes purchasing consortium mechanism using joint replenishment and vendor managed inventory. The analysis shows that SMEs gain potential cost savings in sourcing their raw material through the proposed mechanism.

Composing business process model variants is an activity to form a new variety of business process models in order to fulfill user needs. Nowadays business process model design has been done in various ways. Many well-known approaches tried to specify variants by different process models or expressed them in terms of conditional branches within the same process model. Those two approaches might lead to error prone and redundancy. Another approaches constitute basic parts of a business process and then prepares a method of editing the model afterward. Although this approach is a flexible way to form a suitable model based on user needs, it might not form a correct variation. A correct variation can be constituted if pattern or rule of variation is well defined and applied during business process model composition. In this paper we proposed a form of contextual modelling concept based on Context Sensitive Grammar approach, which provides a flexible and correct methods to compose business variants process. The result show that Context Sensitive Grammar of a certain process variant can be constituted properly based on formal rules by applying a set of affirm production rules during variant model design.

Purchasing consortium (PC) is horizontal collaboration amongst companies to jointly perform their purchasing activities. PC offers companies with better pricing in obtaining goods. One of the critical factors companies to join in the PC is the amount of benefits that would be achieved when they join in the PC compared to when they purchase individually, this factor also called nature of benefits. Strategies to maximize the nature of benefit of PC include two aspects, namely minimizing the total cost of purchasing and maximizing the allocation of saving/gain to each member. This research will be focused on the first aspect of those strategies which is modelling strategy to minimize the total purchase cost. The total purchase cost involves the purchase costs, ordering costs, shipping costs, inventory costs, fix operational cost and penalty cost. Mixed integer programming was developed to model procurement strategy to minimize the total cost of the purchasing system. Sensitivity analysis was also performed to evaluate how different values of parameters affect the total cost. Numerical experiments showed that the total cost of purchasing very sensitive to changes in number of demand from each member of PC. Potential contributions of this research is to provide an overview of the purchasing strategy in the PC by a quantitative approach and determine the condition when a PC needs to make changes on its procurement strategy to maintain and/or improve its nature of benefits during different system's condition.
