Biography

Murali Krishna Ghatkesar is an Assistant Professor at Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Basel, Switzerland. He was a postdoc at the California Institute of Technology, USA, and a research associate at the University of Virginia, USA, before taking the present position at Delft. His research interest lies in the nexus of physics and biology. He develops micro and nanofluidic devices to manipulate, monitor and characterize micro and nanoscale objects in liquid. Some of his scientific contributions include 3D-printed microfluidic atomic force microscopy cantilevers, precise control of pico-femto-liter volumes, measuring the mass of nanoparticles in liquid with atto-grams sensitivity, and extracting nuclei from single-cells.
