Prof. Dr. Hui Xie received his bachelor's degree in Internal Combustion Engines, a master's degree in Internal Combustion Engines, and a PhD in Power Machinery and Engineering from Tianjin University in 1992, 1995, and 1998, respectively. He was a postdoctoral fellow, an associate professor, and a researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engines, Tianjin University. He is currently a tenured professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering of Tianjin University and the director of the Cross-Research Center for Autonomous Vehicles of Tianjin University. He is also the director of the Internal Combustion Power Intelligent Technology Branch of the China Internal Combustion Engine Society, the deputy director of the Vehicle Control and Intelligence Professional Committee of the Chinese Automation Society, a member of the International Federation of Control Advanced Automotive Control Technology Committee (IFAC-AAC), the vice president of the Tianjin Automotive Engineering Society, a member of the World Intelligent Driving Challenge Rules Committee, and the executive editor of the Journal of Internal Combustion Engines. His main research directions are powertrain and intelligent vehicle control, engine advanced algorithms and multi-core ECU, and unmanned driving intelligent control.
