Most studies concerned with sustainable design issues focus on product design to change user behavior, increase the product lifespan, reduce energy waste, or employ the user experience to influence the behavior of other users. Rarely do they discuss how to design products that meet the real needs of consumers and reduce design waste and excessive consumption. Teaware designers and producers have invisibly created a considerable carbon footprint with regard to nonrenewable clay and energy waste due to excessive production. Therefore, this research uses visual and tactile research into the Chinese drinking cup to integrate user experience and the designer’s thinking and methods to ensure the sustainable value of the design and industry. This research uses experimental methods to collect and analyze the data with a fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fs/QCA). The research found that the visual, tactile, and sensory perceptions of general consumers and tea professionals have different influencing factors on the taste system. This research provides evidence that the size of the tea-drinking container and the thickness of the cup’s rim will affect the perception of the tea’s taste and smell. This research provides new thinking for the design of Chinese tea-drinking utensils. It could solve social problems and dilemmas through design and contribute to the sustainable development of the design.

BACKGROUND In 2019, with the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping across the globe, public health systems worldwide faced severe challenges. Amid the pandemic, one simulation game, Plague Inc., has received substantial attention. This game has indirectly drawn greater public attention to public health issues by simulating pathogen transmission and disease symptoms. OBJECTIVE Against this backdrop, this research investigates whether the gameful experience of Plague Inc. has indirectly affected public knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) regarding COVID-19. METHODS An online survey was conducted through social networking services in Taiwan from May 6-28, 2020. RESULTS A total of 486 subjects participated in this study, of which 276 (56.8%) had played Plague Inc. This study had several findings. First, participants who had played Plague Inc. demonstrated higher levels of knowledge (P=.03, median 7, IQR 7-8) and attitudes (P=.007, median 8, IQR 7-8) than participants who had not played Plague Inc. (knowledge: median 7, IQR 6-8; attitude: median 7, IQR 6-8). Second, there was a significant correlation between creative thinking (ρ=.127, P=.04) and dominance (ρ=.122, P=.04) in attitude. Finally, there was a significant correlation between creative thinking (ρ=.126, P<.001) and dominance (ρ=.119, P=.049) in practice. CONCLUSIONS Serious games highlighting the theme of pathogen transmission may enhance public knowledge and attitudes regarding COVID-19. Furthermore, the creative thinking and dominance involved in gameful experiences may act as critical factors in public attitudes and practices regarding COVID-19. These findings should be further verified through experimental research in the future.

Modern people's lives pay more attention to the quality of life, but the waste of food and the improper recycling of food waste have caused energy and environmental problems. We use the advantages of decomposing food to solve the problem of raw kitchen waste and make organic fertilizer for planting. The household kitchen waste disintegration device that we tried to design we used the drum type proposal and put it indoors to solve the problem of raw kitchen waste. There is a cover to switching to reduce the odor and cause the mosquitoes to approach. After entering the raw kitchen, turn the drum, stir the soil and raw kitchen, easy to operate and simple, and improve the quality of life. After a period of time, the organic fertilizer is collected after the worm-eating the raw from the kitchen. The mesh can be replaced by a hole. When turning, the soil will fall into the larger box below, and the culture water will flow into the lowermost box, and the sputum will remain in the drum. In the next, continue the next breeding.

According to research, the current situation of declining of children's birth rate is becoming a serious social issue in Taiwan. Therefore, most parents are willing to give their children the best care, and the trend of children's goods is refined and more creative. It can be seen that modern people are not afraid of expensive but pay more attention to quality and creativity. This study takes the common traffic signs as design target. Modern children's living environment is becoming more scientific and less exposed to outdoor activities. The preschool children's vision is not broad enough to judge the meaning of the traffic sign. Therefore, in the news reports, people often see cases of children misunderstanding the road, leading to tragedy. Parents play an important role in the child's growth and must teach children to identify relevant signs at the right time. This study hopes to teach children the correct concept of transportation through relevant designs. Although the elements of traffic signs are very simple, the more complex the environment, the more streamlined it is to achieve simplicity and order. The ultimate goal of this study is to make children curious about the goods and teach the correct concept of transportation.

The ceramic industry is among the most profitable industries in the world, but, because of the use of nonrenewable materials and high fuel consumption, it also has a carbon footprint. Ceramic materials account for the majority of drinking vessels. Several scholars found that consumers’ awareness of drinks and purchasing desires are highly correlated with a vessel’s shape and color—in other words, the visual stimulation. However, since prior studies have focused on alcohol, bubble drinks, juice, coffee, cocoa, etc., there has rarely been any research on the appropriate drinking vessels for Chinese tea. This study intends to investigate the visual design of vessels for Chinese tea, in terms of its impact on the taste of the drink, by integrating the thinking and methods of expert users and designers for the sustainability of design and industry. In this study, tea experts and designers were asked for their opinions as a means of data collection. Fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (Fs/QCA) was used for data analysis. This study proved that the design of a tea-drinking vessel could have an influence on the perception of the taste and scent of the tea. This research not only brings new meaning to the traditional concept of teacup design, but also reflects famous Japanese craftsman Liu Zongyue’s idea of practical beauty, which is beneficial to promoting Chinese tea culture, and contributes to sustainable design and sustainable behavior.

The Chinese culture of tea drinking is rooted in people's daily lives. With the passing of dynasties, tea-drinking methods have evolved, from tea bowls in the Song Dynasty to small teacups in the Ming Dynasty. The function of a teacup is not only to hold the tea liquid; it should also develop a better quality of tea. Much research has been done into the influence of a receptacle's color and shape on the perception of coffee, juice and wine, but not tea. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between cup shape and the taste of tea to provide evidence of tea quality for consumers, tea masters or tea vessel designers. The findings reveal that the shape of the cup does influence the taste of tea as well as the scent of tea.

In the current Taiwanese society and culture, both aborigines people and other social groups have paid increasing attention to the local cultures of the Taiwanese aborigines. The distinctive cultural features of Taiwan can be best embodied in the cultures of Taiwanese Aborigines. In Aborigines and the tribal life, totem symbolizes the faith, stories, hierarchy, lifestyle, clothes and other cultural features of tribes. In the current era featuring the prevalent products of cultural creativity worldwide, we can see unique and representative objects or patterns common in domestic and international ethnic groups, such as the cosmic calendar totem of the Mayas as well as the exquisite intertwined totems of horse, snake and bird carved on the wooden bow by the Vikings from 8 to 10 centuries. It is hoped that special totems with the ethnic features will be found in the existing Taiwanese aborigines and applied to the products of cultural creativity. This study probed into representative tribal totems and simplified them, so that people would have a deeper understanding of the cultural meaning and features of aborigines and grasp the philosophy of the products of cultural creativity. In this study, the document analysis was adopted for the collection, classification and comparison of data, and the semiology was applied to deconstruct the codes to explore the relevance and features of the totems of the aborigines as well as the significance of the totemic culture. Through the data collection and style analysis, this study aims to popularize the products of cultural creativity with the distinctive features of aborigines. By analyzing the functions and forms of the products of cultural creativity of the aborigine's tribes, it hopes to offer more information about the habits and folk cultures of the Taiwanese aborigines.

Modest fashion is driven by underlying Islamic mandate to preserve modesty, as laid forth in the Quran and the Sunna. Especially for women, they should cover the body from head to hands and feet. As majority religion in Indonesia, the developing of modest fashion has been growing rapidly. The appearing of new designers who create new modest fashion styles have been contributed to development of modern modest fashion. The collection of data used literature review. Literature review is the key elements in many disciplines as they provide a summary of existing evidence that is needed to inform new academic project, policy, and practice. We adopted the procedure of literature review based on theory of Webster and Richard (2002). The results of this study show that wearing an Islamic dress today is not only a fulfillment of a religious requirement but also a fashion trend. The modest fashion designers and the Hijabers Community have great influence for expansion of Indonesia's modest fashion. The media and the international fashion events make modest fashion that previously only become trend in Indonesia but nowadays become fashion trend in the international market.

The Shuanglong Tribe, located at the source of the Zhoushui River, is a typical Bunun tribe in Nantou County. In the Bunun language "Shuanglong" means a place of quietness or a piece of land covered by stones. The tribe enjoys the advantage of living in a mountainous region, as well as the plentiful stream waters of the adjacent Zhoushui River, which contains little pollution. This allows the local Bunun to raise sweet fish and sturgeon, in addition to the large variety of local agricultural products they grow. Thus, the tribe is seeking assistance in creating its own brand. We hope to discover methods for combining local aquatic product brands with packaging design, in addition to effectively integrating local culture in this study. We also anticipate providing essential design assistance for the sustainability of local industrial and cultural activities, in addition to greater local cultural development.
