Patrick Scheerer is the group leader of the workgroup “Protein
X-ray Crystallography and Signal Transduction”, Institute of Medical Physics
and Biophysics, Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin. He graduated from
Technische Universität Berlin and Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin. His
research interests are elucidating molecular details and mechanisms of signal
transduction processes in membrane proteins, signal transduction-related
proteins, photoreceptors and metalloenzymes, protein X-ray crystallography,
molecular biology/protein production methods, biophysical assays, LCP
crystallization, free-electron laser techniques and cryo-electron microscopy.
