Dr Débora Lanznaster is a post-doctoral researcher at UMR1253 iBrain (INSERM/University of Tours). She received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Federal University of Santa Catarina in 2016. Her research is focused on neurodegenerative diseases, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Dr. Lanznaster investigates the physiology of TDP-43 aggregates and their toxic role in the neurodegeneration observed in ALS. She uses cell culture and animal models of ALS and develops research on samples and data from ALS patients. Dr. Lanznaster is also interested in the identification of biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of neurodegenerative diseases, as well as the investigation of therapeutic options to improve the treatment of ALS patients.
