I am assistant professor in the Department of Biology at Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Colombia, South America). My research focuses on producing spatial models that can support biodiversity conservation at large scales. To accomplish this, I perform spatial analysis using Geographic Information Systems, programming (R and JavaScript, mainly), spatial statistics, and information from many fields, such as ecology and biodiversity, remote sensing (e.g., satellite imagery), climate, economics, society, hydrology, and biophysics (e.g., topography, soil properties, and altitude). I aspire to continue developing multidisciplinary research on the conservation of biodiversity and to produce papers that contribute significantly to our knowledge of these fields.
