Dr. Claire Troakes graduated from the University of Southampton in Physiology and Pharmacology, and currently she is the Brain Bank Coordinator at the London Neurodegenerative Diseases Brain Bank and a Senior Lecturer at King’s College London. Her research focuses on the pathology of neurodegenerative disease, including dementia and motor neuron disease. Currently, she is using human tissue samples to examine the relationship between head injury and subsequent neurodegeneration as a method to investigate mechanisms that may initiate neuronal damage.
