Rita Fonseca is Associate Professor in the Department of Geosciences, School of Sciences and Technology, Director of Laboratory AmbiTerra and researcher of the Institute of Earth Sciences, in the University of Évora. Her main interests are (1) biogeochemical characterization of degraded areas (by erosion and by contamination from mining and ore processing activities) and remediation proposals; (2) chemical and mineralogical characteristics of sediments from dam reservoirs and proposals of rehabilitation and reuse of sediments; (3) geochemistry of tropical lakes; (4) analytical biogeochemistry (elemental analysis, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry).
