Dr. Alsaafani is an associate professor at the Department of Marine Science, King Abdulaziz University. Dr. Alsaafani's research interests and experiences include hydrography and water masses in the northern Indian Ocean including the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea, eddy dynamics and their impact on the general circulation, mixed-layer variability and the factors affecting its variability, the physical-biological interaction, and impact of climate change on sea level and coastal regions.
