Information

Karina Guillén-Navarro received her B.Sc. in Biomedicine from the Genomic Sciences Center of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She has a Postdoctoral stay at the Department of Plant Molecular Biology of the Institute of Biotechnology, UNAM. She has worked in research focused on functional genomics of prokaryotes in different projects oriented to the study of molecular microbial metabolism and physiology, in prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems, as well as microbial interactions in microbial consortia and in microorganism-host interactions, with a focus on environmental biotechnology. She is part of the National System of Researchers, Level I, and an evaluator of projects of different CONACYT and higher education institutions announcements. Her research interests are focused on understanding the role of microorganisms in different ecosystems, including their interaction with plant and animal organisms, to take advantage of their genetic, metabolic, and enzymatic richness in different sustainable, environmentally friendly biotechnological processes.
