Professor Giovanna della Porta is Head of the Translational & Nano-Medicine Research Team at UNISA, focusing on drug delivery and tissue engineering. She holds an M.Sc. degree in Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Naples and obtained her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Bologna. From 2012–2013, she was a visiting research fellow in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Maryland, College Park (USA). She has published more than 150 articles in international journals on advanced nanomedicine formulations for tissue engineering of the musculoskeletal system and has an H-index of 47 (Scopus).
