Prof. Alkinoos Athanasiou is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the 2nd University Department of Neurosurgery of AUTH at “Ippokratio” General Hospital of Thessaloniki and a Researcher at the Medical Physics & Digital Innovation Laboratory, School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, AUTH. He had been elected Vice-President of the administrative board of the Hellenic Society for Biomedical Technology. He has both surgical/clinical expertise and scientific skills in biomedical engineering, especially neural rehabilitation of neurological populations such as stroke and spinal cord injury patients using wearable technologies, human–machine interfaces, robotics, 3D printing, and XR technologies.
