Pedro Acién, MD, PhD, FRCOG, Emeritus Professor at Miguel Hernandez University of Elche (UMH), Spain. He has been the Head of Service at the University Hospitals of Elche and San Juan, in Alicante, Spain, and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Universities of Alicante and Miguel Hernandez of Elche. He is the author of several books and book chapters and has made more than 370 scientific contributions in different areas of Obstetrics and Gynecology research: perinatology, leiomyomas, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, endometriosis, and especially, malformations of the female genital tract (with own embryological description and classification system). For his contributions in this specific area, he was appointed Fellow ad eundem of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (United Kingdom) in 2008.
