Biography

Dr. Dorijan Radočaj is a Research Assistant at the Chair of Geoinformation Technology and GIS at the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. He obtained a Master of Geodesy and Geoinformatics at the University of Zagreb and a Doctor of Philosophy at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. His research focuses on cropland suitability prediction, digital soil mapping, and creating prescription maps in precision agriculture. His most notable scientific contribution is developing a novel method for cropland suitability prediction based on machine learning, providing a fully objective prediction using globally available satellite remote sensing data. This approach produced several key advantages over a conventional GIS-based multicriteria analysis, potentially starting a paradigm shift towards more efficient agricultural land management.
