PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2007 from the Federal University of Santa Maria, in the area of Concentration in Energy Processing in the Line of Research of Process Control. He has experience in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on Systems Control and Power Electronics, working mainly in the following subjects: photovoltaic systems, modeling and control of static converters and applied digital control. He is the director of Intelligent Grids Institute (INRI) of the Federal University of Santa Maria.
