Biography

Post-doctoral researcher in Milan, working as cell and molecular biologist with a strong focus on signal transduction pathway(s) and immune modulation. Earlier, I obtained my Doctoral Degree at the University of Milan-Bicocca where I was involved in several projects at the interface between pharmaceutical biology and pharmacology. My work is primarily related to the study of inflammatory pathway modulation in innate immune cells (macrophages and microglial cells). As a doctoral researcher, I was responsible for designing and performing cell-based assays, collecting and analysing data and images (from immunoblotting and immunofluorescence), supervising trainee students (Master's and younger PhD candidates), managing the entire lab and establishing collaborations with other research groups. The main goal of my research activity is to understand the impact of natural and synthetic molecules on inflammatory cascades and ultimately identify their molecular target(s) and mechanism(s) of action.
