Prof. Dr. Raffaella Sesana earned an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (Politecnico di Milano, IT) in 1993 and a Ph.D. in Machine Design in 1998. She became an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (Politecnico di Torino, IT) (2019). Her work in Mechanical Structural Engineering has resulted in more than 80 publications. She teaches Structural Mechanics in Mechanical, Energy and Mechatronic Engineering at Politecnico di Torino and Structural Engineering in TTPU (Tashkent, UZ). She is a board member of AIPND – Italy (2024). Her research interests include HCF of metallic materials—analytical and experimental aspects; the application of thermography for non-destructive fatigue limit assessment and damage investigation; LCF and TMF damage models; analytical and numerical comparisons between models; the development of damage energetic criteria, finite element modelling, and life estimation of mechanical components; experimental characterization of materials and components for mechanical, automotive, and aerospace applications; the analysis and development of constitutive models for cyclic plastic behaviour of metallic materials, polymeric materials, and foams; the design and numerical simulation (FEM, structural simulation) of mechanical and automotive components and systems; and thermography. raffaella.sesana@polito.it https://www.thexorpolito.com/ https://www.polito.it/en/staff?p=002418
