Qijie Zhai is currently the director of the Center for Advanced Solidification Technology at Shanghai University and the deputy director of the Faculty Committee of the Academic Committee of Shanghai University. He is also the editor-in-chief of Shanghai Metals, deputy director of the Foundry Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, deputy director of the Solidification Branch of the China Materials Research Society, deputy director of the Shanghai Metals Society, deputy director of the Expert Committee of the China Foundry Association, and deputy director of the editorial boards of six academic journals, including the Journal of Iron and Steel Research and China Foundry. He was the director of the foundry teaching and research department and the director of the foundry research institute of the University of Science and Technology Beijing, the director of scientific research, the director of the graduate department, the director of the discipline office, and the assistant to the president of Shanghai University. His research areas include the metal solidification process and organization regulation technology, microalloy casting steel materials, and advanced casting process and technology.
