Currently, I am an Assistant Professor (Bioinformatics) at the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, School of Life Sciences at JSSAHER, Mysuru, India, with more than 15 years of research experience in Bioinformatics. I am teaching both theory & practicals on (a) Python for Bioinformatics, (b) Structural Bioinformatics, (c) Advanced Computer Aided Drug Design & (d) Immunoinformatics to M.Sc. graduates at JSSAHER. My lab utilizes integrated Bioinformatics approaches to understand sequence-structure-dynamics-function relationships of proteins and Computer-driven Drug Discovery & Design. Broad research interests are structural As a researcher, my focal point is to integrate Bioinformatics and Chemoinformatics approaches in understanding the basis for structure-function relationship of proteins and drug discovery. My research interests are Structural Bioinformatics, Chemoinformatics, Molecular Modelling, Dynamics & Visualization, Computer-aided Drug Discovery, Creation of Databases & Tools and Scientific Programming. The structure and dynamics of macromolecules always excited me. I have experience in Homology modelling, Computational protein design, Chemoinformatics, Molecular docking & dynamics simulations and Structure-based drug discovery, with proficiency in Perl, Python and Linux scripting. In addition, I have volunteered myself in writing science news in Current Science journal along with teaching bioinformatics in workshops and for students at graduate level.
