Prof. Dr. Jong-Whan Rhim is an Emeritus Professor affiliated with the BioNanocomposite Research Center, Department of Food and Nutrition at Kyung Hee University in Seoul, Republic of Korea. He is the Guest Editor of the Special Issues “Bio-Based Polymeric Films”, “Bio-Based Polymeric Films II”, and “Application of Biopolymer-Based Food Packaging Films to Extend Shelf Life of Perishable Products” in MDPI. His research interests mainly focus on sustainable biopolymers; bionanocomposite materials; antibacterial food packaging; and active food packaging. His scientific output includes 321 publications in various journals with an h-index of 89 (Scopus, March 2024). He is a highly cited researcher and is considered one of the top 1% of researchers in the world.
