Prof. Xinchao Wang is the deputy director at the Tea Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He completed his PhD studies in agronomy at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS)
Graduate School and has been awarded the China Tea Society Youth Science and Technology Award and the National Outstanding Tea Science and Technology Worker Award. He has published over 180 papers in domestic and international journals and has edited seven books. He also serves as the director of the National Tea Plant Improvement Center and as the executive director and chairman of the Academic Working Committee of the Chinese Tea Society. His research topics mainly include the selection and breeding of new tea plant cultivars and research on the mechanism of resistance of tea plants.
