Prof. Dr. Silvestru Sever Dragomir is a Professor at the College of Engineering & Science, Victoria University, Australia. At the beginning of his appointment as a Chair in Mathematical Inequalities at VU, Sever founded 1998 the Research Group in Mathematical Inequalities and Applications (RGMIA), which comprises more than 1300 academics and researchers from Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America. The aims of the group are to disseminate results via publication in electronic form and conferences, create an awareness of the theory of inequalities through support seminars and visiting academics, and illustrate the applicability of inequalities in the sciences. He has an internationally recognized research track record in the Theory of Inequalities, Approximation Theory, Mathematical Analysis, Information Theory, Numerical Analysis, Functional Analysis, and Operator Theory. He has more than 1175 journal articles published in prestigious journals in these fields. He is also the author of 12 books and the editor of another 10 books. These are accredited by the Mathematical Reviews of the American Mathematical Society and can be viewed in the database MathSciNet.
