Andraž Čarni received his PhD from the University of Ljubljana in 1994. At present, he is the lead research associate at the Jovan Hadži Institute of Biology, Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, professor of botany at the School for Viticulture and Enology, University of Nova Gorica, and corresponding member of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts. His research topics mainly include vegetation ecology, macroecology, and botany.
