Jie Shan (SM’14) received Ph.D. degree in photogrammetry and remote sensing from Wuhan University. He has worked at universities in China, Germany and Sweden. He is currently a Professor with the School of Civil Engineering, and Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences, Purdue University, USA. His research interests include sensor geometry and positioning, object extraction and reconstruction from images and point clouds, urban remote sensing, pattern recognition and geospatial data mining. He is recipient of multiple best paper awards and elected ASPRS Fellow. He serves on the editorial boards of several remote sensing journals
