Lázaro Molina (1971) is graduated and PhD in Biological Sciences by the University of Granada. He has developed its scientific carrier in the Microbial Ecology and Biotechnology of microbes of agricultural interest. He initiated his career at the Estación Experimental del Zaidín (Granada) where he was a pioneer in the studies of plant-bacteria interactions for bioremediation of toxic pollutants in open field (Molina et al., 1998). He has done three postdoctoral stays in high standing international institutions (CNRS-France; ETHZ-Switzerland and Max Planck Institute-Germany) where he received cutting-edge training and excellent formation in the study of complex signalling systems and eukaryote molecular biology. After returning to Spain he initiated studies on the key genomic determinants for microbe-host interactions at the EEZ. Afterwards, he moved to Huelva University, to be the responsible of the Microbial Department of Agro-alimentary Research and Control Center of the University of Huelva, where he set up the department, being responsible of requesting the new equipment and of implementing the technologies in the lab. After returning to the CSIC, his main research interest was focused in the microbial molecular signalling, during starvation (CNB-Madrid) and in bioremediation (EEZ-Granada)
