Hi! I am a developmental neurobiologist with considerable expertise in the study of perinatal brain disorders (inflammatory, hypoxic/ischemic, traumatic), focusing on identifying novel mechanisms of injury mediated by the brain’s immune cells, microglia and in testing neurotherapeutics. My research has made significant contributions to what we know about how microglia respond to injury to the developing brain, including uncovering novel pathways for microglial activation and demonstrating that stage of development alters the roles of microglia in brain injury.
