My various research activities spanned from physical-chemistry to materials science. I achieved solid skills in treating luminescent materials for different applications, such as cultural heritage dating, imaging, medical therapies, and ionizing radiation detection. Particularly, I acquired a solid background in the field of steady state and time resolved photo– and radioluminescence of nanostructured materials. Recently, I focused my investigations on hybrid nanomaterials and composites as scintillators for fast timing radiation detection.
