Prof. Dr.-Ing. Steffen Ihlenfeldt, born in 1971, studied at the Technical University of Braunschweig and has held various positions at the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU. He received his Doctorate in 2012 from Chemnitz University of Technology on the topic of redundant machine tool structures. Since 2015, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Steffen Ihlenfeldt has occupied professorship for Machine Tool Development and Adaptive Controls at the TU Dresden. In addition to his work at TU Dresden, he is currently the Institute Director for Production Systems and Factory Automation at Fraunhofer IWU.
