In this article, a novel adaptive super-twisting nonlinear Fractional-order PID sliding mode control (ASTNLFOPIDSMC) strategy using extended state observer (ESO) for the speed operation of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is proposed. Firstly, this paper proposes a novel nonlinear Fractional-order PID (NLFOPID) sliding surface with nonlinear proportion term, nonlinear integral term and nonlinear differential term. Secondly, the novel NLFOPID switching manifold and an adaptive supertwisting reaching law (ASTRL) are applied to obtain excellent control performance in the sliding mode phase and the reaching phase, respectively. The novel ASTNLFOPIDSMC strategy is constructed by the ASTRL and the NLFOPID sliding surface. Due to the utilization of NLFOPID switching manifold, the characteristics of fast convergence, good robustness and small steady state error can be ensured in the sliding mode phase. Due to the utilization of ASTRL, the chattering phenomenon can be weakened, and the characteristics of high accuracy and strong robustness can be obtained in the reaching phase. Further, an ESO is designed to achieve dynamic feedback compensation for external disturbance. Furthermore, Lyapunov stability theorem and Fractional calculus are used to prove the stability of the system. Finally, comparison results under different controllers demonstrate that the proposed control strategy not only achieves good stability and dynamic properties, but also is robust to external disturbance.

A novel sliding mode controller (SMC) with nonlinear fractional order PID sliding surface based on a novel extended state observer for the speed operation of a surface‐mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) is proposed in this paper. First, a new smooth and derivable nonlinear function with improved continuity and derivative is designed to replace the traditional nonderivable nonlinear function of the nonlinear state error feedback control law. Then, a nonlinear fractional order PID sliding mode controller is proposed on the basis of the fractional order PID sliding surface with the combination of the novel nonlinear state error feedback control law to improve dynamic performance, static performance, and robustness of the system. Furthermore, a novel extended state observer is designed based on the new nonlinear function to achieve dynamic feedback compensation for external disturbances. Stability of the system is proved based on the Lyapunov stability theorem. The corresponding comparative simulation results demonstrate that the proposed composite control algorithm displays good stability, dynamic properties, and strong robustness against external disturbances.

This study proposes a novel model-free intelligent proportional-integral supertwisting nonlinear fractional-order sliding mode control (MF-iPI-ST-NLFOSMC) strategy for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) speed regulation system. First of all, a model independent intelligent proportional-integral (iPI) control strategy is adopted for the motor speed regulation system. Next, a novel model-free supertwisting nonlinear fractional-order sliding mode control (ST-NLFOSMC) strategy is constructed based on the ultralocal model of PMSM. Meanwhile, a linear extended state observer (LESO) is used to estimate the unknown terms of the ultralocal model. Then, this study presents the novel hybrid MF-iPI-ST-NLFOSMC strategy which integrates the model-free ST-NLFOSMC strategy, the model-free iPI control strategy, and the LESO. Moreover, the stability of the proposed hybrid MF-iPI-ST-NLFOSMC strategy is proved by the Lyapunov stability theorem and fractional-order theory. Finally, the simulations and comparison results verify that the hybrid MF-iPI-ST-NLFOSMC strategy proposed in this paper has better performance than the other model-free controllers in terms of the static characteristic, dynamic characteristic, and robustness.

This study proposes a novel hierarchical nonlinear proportional-integral fast terminal sliding mode (HNLPIFTSM) control for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) speed regulation system. A new type of sliding surface called HNLPIFTSM surface, which combines the benefits of a nonlinear proportional-integral (PI) sliding mode surface and a fast terminal sliding mode (FTSM) surface, is proposed to enhance the robustness and improved the dynamic response, whilst preserving the great property of the conventional hierarchical fast terminal sliding mode (HFTSM) control strategy. The proposed HNLPIFTSM surface uses the novel nonlinear PI sliding mode surface as its inner loop and uses the FTSM surface as its outer loop. Meanwhile, an extended state observer (ESO) is used to estimate the uncertain terms of the PMSM speed regulation system. Furthermore, the stability of the closed-loop control system under the ESO and the HNLPIFTSM control strategy is proved by the Lyapunov stability theorem. Finally, the simulations and experimental demonstrations verify the effectiveness and superiorities of our proposed HNLPIFTSM control strategy over the conventional HFTSM control strategy.

Based on the optical quenching phenomenon, a smart mesoporous phosphorescent microsensor was built. It is a phenol microsensor, which inherits a high selectivity of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) and room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) properties of Mn-doped ZnS quantum dots (QDs). On the surface of silane-modified Mn-doped ZnS QDs, the phenol microsensor was synthesized by a sol–gel process. Because of the presence of a porogenic agent, a mesoporous structure played an important role in increasing the detection sensitivity. The MPTS-modified Mn-doped ZnS QDs were used as solid supports and auxiliary monomers. Under optimal conditions, the experiment for the detection of phenol had a linear range of 5.0 to 50 μmol L−1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.9983 and a high imprinting factor (IF) of 3.28. In addition, the as-prepared Mn-doped ZnS QD@ms-MIPs were successfully applied for phenol determination and selectivity in water samples. Therefore, this study provides a highly selective and sensitive mesoporous phosphorescent microsensor for the detection of phenol.

To achieve high-quality control of PMSM with parameter uncertainties, a nonlinear smooth fractional order sliding mode composite control (NSFOSMCC) strategy is designed in this paper. This approach incorporates a novel nonlinear smooth fractional order sliding mode controller, a novel adaptive super-twisting (AST) algorithm, and a modified nonlinear extended state observer (ESO) to achieve enhanced motor performance. To effectively overcome the disadvantages of simplicity and toughness associated with the conventional fractional order sliding mode controller, a novel nonlinear smooth fractional order sliding mode controller is designed. A novel AST technique is introduced to effectively weaken chattering issues. The modified nonlinear ESO is used to estimate the uncertainty parameters of the PMSM. By combining the modified nonlinear ESO with the latest sliding mode controller, a new composite controller called NSFOSMCC strategy is developed for PMSM. The proposed NSFOSMCC strategy, utilizing a combination of “feedforward plus feedback,” is implemented for PMSM with parameter uncertainties. The reliability and stability of the controller are thoroughly established through the utilization of the Lyapunov stability theorem. Furthermore, comparative results show strong evidence supporting the effectiveness of the novel composite control strategy.
