Prof. Dr. Lu Zhang holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Department of Chemistry of Peking University, a Master of Science degree in physical chemistry from the Institute of Photographic Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Doctor of Science degree in physical chemistry from the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is currently a senior engineer, researcher, and doctoral supervisor at the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and deputy director of the R&D Center for New Materials for Oil and Gas Development and Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection. He is committed to studying the molecular structure-activity relationship of surfactants and the solid–liquid and liquid–liquid interface behavior of amphiphilic molecules, trying to clarify the interaction mechanism between the components of the oil recovery system and provide guidance for the design of new oil recovery chemical materials at the molecular structure level. He has undertaken projects of the National Key R&D Program Reform Project, joint unit projects of the National Major Science and Technology Project, general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, major 863 sub-projects, and sub-projects of the National 973 Project. He has presided over dozens of horizontal projects for Sinopec, CNPC, Daqing Oilfield, Shengli Oilfield, etc.
