Francisco José Sánchez-Muniz completed his Primary Education and Baccalaureate at the Colón School of the Marist Brothers in Huelva. During the academic year 1966/67, he moved to Madrid to carry out his Pre-University studies. He has worked as a teacher and researcher since the academic year 1973/74 at the Complutense University of Madrid at the Agricultural University of Wageningen (Holland) and Tufts University in Boston (USA). He became a Full University Professor in 1985 and a University Professor in the Area of Nutrition and Bromatology at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2004, locating himself in the Department of Nutrition and Bromatology I (Nutrition) of the Faculty of Pharmacy. He has six recognized Research Sections (the maximum) by the National Evaluation Commission. He is a Founding member of the Spanish Nutrition Society (SEN), a Member of the Editorial Committee of the Hospital Nutrition Magazine, an Evaluator since 1985 of scientific works in Journals indexed in the Journal of Citation Report, an Evaluator of Scientific Projects of the National Plan and Autonomous Communities since 1985, a Member of different Scientific Societies, and a Member of the Arciprestes de Hita Group. He is an Honorary Role of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Complutense University of Madrid, the Corresponding Academic of the Royal National Academy of Medicine and Surgery of Valladolid, and a Full Member of the Royal National Academy of Pharmacy.
