Eco-friendly Sn-based perovskites show significant potential for high-performance second near-infrared window light-emitting diodes (900 nm – 1700 nm). Nevertheless, achieving efficient and stable Sn-based perovskite second near-infrared window light-emitting diodes remains challenging due to the propensity of Sn2+ to oxidize, resulting in detrimental Sn4+-induced defects and compromised device performance. Here, we present a targeted strategy to eliminate Sn4+-induced defects through moisture-triggered hydrolysis of tin tetrahalide, without degrading Sn2+ in the CsSnI3 film. During the moisture treatment, tin tetrahalide is selectively hydrolyzed to Sn(OH)4, which provides sustained protection. As a result, we successfully fabricate second near-infrared window light-emitting diodes emitting at 945 nm, achieving a performance breakthrough with an external quantum efficiency of 7.6% and an operational lifetime reaching 82.6 h.

Evaluation of sympathetic nerve activity (SNA) using skin sympathetic nerve activity (SKNA) signal has attracted interest in recent studies. However, signal noises may obstruct the accurate location for the burst of SKNA, leading to the quantification error of the signal. In this study, we use the Teager–Kaiser energy (TKE) operator to preprocess the SKNA signal, and then candidates of burst areas were segmented by an envelope-based method. Since the burst of SKNA can also be discriminated by the high-frequency component in QRS complexes of electrocardiogram (ECG), a strategy was designed to reject their influence. Finally, a feature of the SKNA energy ratio (SKNAER) was proposed for quantifying the SKNA. The method was verified by both sympathetic nerve stimulation and hemodialysis experiments compared with traditional heart rate variability (HRV) and a recently developed integral skin sympathetic nerve activity (iSKNA) method. The results showed that SKNAER correlated well with HRV features (r = 0.60 with the standard deviation of NN intervals, 0.67 with low frequency/high frequency, 0.47 with very low frequency) and the average of iSKNA (r = 0.67). SKNAER improved the detection accuracy for the burst of SKNA, with 98.2% for detection rate and 91.9% for precision, inducing increases of 3.7% and 29.1% compared with iSKNA (detection rate: 94.5% (p < 0.01), precision: 62.8% (p < 0.001)). The results from the hemodialysis experiment showed that SKNAER had more significant differences than aSKNA in the long-term SNA evaluation (p < 0.001 vs. p = 0.07 in the fourth period, p < 0.01 vs. p = 0.11 in the sixth period). The newly developed feature may play an important role in continuously monitoring SNA and keeping potential for further clinical tests.

The ineffectiveness of anticancer drugs is frequently observed in cancer chemotherapy. The resistance of tumor cells to various cytotoxic drugs is defined as multidrug resistance (MDR). The purpose of our present study was to investigate the inhibitory effects of L1EPO synthesized by our group on P-glycoprotein (P-gp)-mediated MDR in K562/A02 and KBv200 cell lines, which expressed high levels of P-gp. Both the cytotoxicity of the compound and its ability to inhibit K562/A02 and KBv200 cells were determined by sulforhodamine B sodium salt (SRB) assay. Morphologic apoptosis was detected by Hoechst33342 staining assay. Reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to detect mdr-1 gene transcription, and Western blot assay was used to assess P-gp expression. Interestingly, we found that the K562/A02 cell line was rendered resistant toward Adriamycin but not towards L1EPO when compared with the parental cells. Furthermore, L1EPO could down-regulate the mdr-1 gene, and it reduced the expression of P-gp and displayed a perfect dose dependence. Moreover, it had less cytotoxicity in normal human cell lines (fibroblast, VEC), GI50>10 μmol/l. Consequently, L1EPO has the potential to overcome P-glycoprotein-mediated MDR in the K562/A02 cell line.
