He received his Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from Seoul National University in 2006. He was with WiMAX Design Lab, Samsung Electronics, Suwon, South Korea from 2007 to 2010. He joined as a full-time professor at the School of Electronics, Kumoh National Institute of Technology, Gumi, South Korea in 2010. He is currently a full Professor. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Washington, USA in 2007. In addition, he was a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia, Canada in 2017.
