Nanofluids are considered to be a next-generation heat transfer medium due to their excellent thermal performance. To investigate the effect of electric fields and magnetic fields on heat transfer of nanofluids, this paper analyzes the mechanism of thermal conductivity enhancement of nanofluids, the chaotic convection and the heat transfer enhancement of nanofluids in the presence of an applied electric field or magnetic field through the method of literature review. The studies we searched showed that applied electric field and magnetic field can significantly affect the heat transfer performance of nanofluids, although there are still many different opinions about the effect and mechanism of heat transfer. In a word, this review is supposed to be useful for the researchers who want to understand the research state of heat transfer of nanofluids.

This study proposes an ensemble differential evolution online sequential extreme learning machine (DE-OSELM) for textile image illumination correction based on the rotation forest framework. The DE-OSELM solves the inaccuracy and long training time problems associated with traditional illumination correction algorithms. First, the Grey–Edge framework is used to extract the low-dimensional and efficient image features as online sequential extreme learning machine (OSELM) input vectors to improve the training and learning speed of the OSELM. Since the input weight and hidden-layer bias of OSELMs are randomly obtained, the OSELM algorithm has poor prediction accuracy and low robustness. To overcome this shortcoming, a differential evolution algorithm that has the advantages of good global search ability and robustness is used to optimize the input weight and hidden-layer bias of the DE-OSELM. To further improve the generalization ability and robustness of the illumination correction model, the rotation forest algorithm is used as the ensemble framework, and the DE-OSELM is used as the base learner to replace the regression tree algorithm in the original rotation forest algorithm. Then, the obtained multiple different DE-OSELM learners are aggregated to establish the prediction model. The experimental results show that compared with the textile color correction algorithm based on the support vector regression and extreme learning machine algorithms, the ensemble illumination correction method achieves high prediction accuracy, strong robustness, and good generalization ability.

The active tracking technology of underwater acoustic targets is an important research direction in the field of underwater acoustic signal processing and sonar, and it has always been issued that draws researchers’ attention. The commonly used Kalman filter active tracking (KFAT) method is an effective tracking method, however, it is difficult to detect weak SNR signals, and it is easy to lose the target after the azimuth of different targets overlaps. This paper proposes a KFAT based on deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) method, which can effectively solve the problem of target loss. First, we use Kalman filtering to predict the azimuth and distance of the target, and then use the trained model to identify the azimuth-weighted time-frequency image to obtain the azimuth and label of the target and obtain the target distance by the time the target appears in the time-frequency image. Finally, we associate the data according to the target category, and update the target azimuth and distance information for this cycle. In this paper, two methods, KFAT and DCNN-KFAT, are simulated and tested, and the results are obtained for two cases of tracking weak signal-to-noise signals and tracking different targets with overlapping azimuths. The simulation results show that the DCNN-KFAT method can solve the problem that the KFAT method is difficult to track the target under the weak SNR and the problem that the target is easily lost when two different targets overlap in azimuth. It reduces the deviation range of the active tracking to within 200 m, which is 500~700 m less than the KFAT method.

Heat-transfer enhancement in microchannel heat sinks (MCHS) has been a hot topic in the last decade. However, most published works did not focus on the heat sources that are discrete, as in most microelectronic devices, and the enhancement of heat and mass transfer (HMT) due to the Soret and Dufour effects being ignored. Based on a heterogeneous two-phase model that takes into consideration the Soret and Dufour effects, numerical simulations have been performed for various geometries and heat sources. The numerical results demonstrate that the vortices induced by a heat source(s) can enhance the heat transfer efficiency up to 2665 W/m2·K from 2618 W/m2·K for a discrete heat source with a heat flux q = 106 W/m2. The Soret effect can affect the heat transfer much more than the Duffour effect. The integrated results for heat transfer due to the Soret and Dufour effects are not sampled superpositions. Discrete heat sources (DHS) arranged in microchannels can enhance heat transfer, especially when the inlet velocity of the forced flow is less than 0.01 m/s. This can provide a beneficial reference for the design of MCHS with DHS.

Traditional tracking-by-detection methods use online classifier to track object, and the classifier can be degenerated easily using self-learning process. The article presents a multiple instance learning (MIL) tracking method based on a semi-supervised learning model with Fisher linear discriminant (MILFLD). First, the overlap rate of sampled instances and tracking object served as the prior information. Using both labeled and unlabeled data, the tracking drift problem in the learning model could be alleviated. Second, the lost function of MILFLD is built using Fisher linear discriminant model incorporated with priors. Hence the optimal classifier can be selected out directly in instance level. Last but not least, the classifiers are chosen by gradient descent method, assuring the maximum descent of lost function. Therefore, the classifiers selected at previous frames are still discriminative to future frames, which can help to constrain the error propagation. Comparison experiments show that the center location errors of online AdaBoosting , online MIL tracking, weighted MIL tracking (WMIL), compressive tracking (CT), struck tracking, and MILFLD are 78, 66, 62,74, 59, and 25 pixels, respectively, which demonstrates the tracking accuracy of our method. The experiments of robot motion tracking in realistic scenario have been complemented for comparison as well. Despite the variations in illumination, deformation, or occlusions of the objects, the proposed method can track the target accurately and has high real-time performance.
