Prof. Dr. Davy Janssens graduated from Limburg University in 2001 as a commercial engineer in management informatics. After his graduation, he worked as a Ph.D. candidate and teaching assistant at Hasselt University within the faculty of Applied Economic Sciences. In 2005, Dr. Davy received his Ph.D. from Hasselt University, where he is now working as a professor. He teaches different courses in the domain of transportation sciences. At the scientific research level, he is a member of the Transportation Research Institute (IMOB) at Hasselt University, where he is a program leader in travel behavior research. His area of interest is also within the application domain of advanced quantitative modeling (e.g., data mining), such as Bayesian networks and research about reinforcement learning and activity-based transportation modeling.
