Christopher Jeynes was a Liaison Fellow for the University of Surrey Ion Beam Centre from 1981 to 2017 (senior liaison fellow from 1990), a Professorial Research Fellow from 2015 to 2020, and Visiting Professor from 2020 to 2023. He is now retired. His PhD ("Carbonado and the Diamond Polishing Process", supervisor Prof.A.R.Lang FRS) was awarded by Bristol University in 1981. He has published over 300 articles in peer-reviewed journals, some heavily cited. He is an acknowledged expert on Ion Beam Analysis and spectrometry in general. Recently, he has pursued a deep collaboration with Michael Parker on geometrical thermodynamics. He is a member of the Institute of Physics and the Royal Society of Chemistry and is a Chartered Physicist, a Chartered Engineer, and a Chartered Chemist.
