João Paulo Oliveira Martins is Professor of Statistics at the School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, and a member of CEAUL—Center of Statistics and Applications from the University of Lisbon, Portugal. He received a BSc (2002), an MSc (2005) in Mathematics and a PhD in Statistics (2009). His main areas of research are Statistical Inference, Simulation, Distributions, Epidemiology, Classification, Pooled Sample Designs, Distributions Mixtures, Panel Data Models, Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis. His research is applied to various fields such as Clinical Analysis, Medicine and Heath Care. He is a member of the Portuguese Statistical Society.
