Weiping Liu is an Associate Professor at Central South University in Changsha, China. He earned his Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Utah, where he worked under the supervision of Professor Jan D. Miller. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a metallurgist in the Metallurgy and Strategic Planning Department at Freeport-McMoRan’s corporate office in Arizona, USA.
