Prof. Ir. Dr. Norhashila Hashim earned, from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), a Bachelor of Engineering (Biological and Agricultural Engineering) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Biomechanical Engineering). She is currently a Professor in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Her work in agricultural and food engineering, precision agriculture, and non-destructive quality assessment has resulted in more than 180 publications, numerous conference presentations, invited lectures, research grants, and postgraduate supervision. She is a Professional Engineer (BEM), Chartered Engineer (IET, UK), Corporate Member of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM), and Chairman of the Agricultural and Food Engineering Technical Division (AFETD), IEM. Her awards and honours include the SEARCA Professorial Chair Award, the UPM Vice Chancellor Fellowship Award, and other national and international recognitions. Her research interests include optical imaging, machine vision, artificial intelligence, precision agriculture, smart farming, postharvest technology, digital agriculture, food quality and safety, and non-destructive sensing technologies.
