Ondrej Slaby is currently the Head of the Department of Biology, Faculty of Medicine, and Research Group Leader of the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) at Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. He holds a Ph.D. degree from Masaryk University. He has been Chairman of the Board of the Czech Health Research Council since 2022. He is a professor at Charles University. He is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, the European Association for Cancer Research, the Czech Society of Oncology (co-founder of the Neurooncology division), and the Genetical Society of Gregor Mendel. He was elected to be a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology 2016. He was awarded the Annual Novartis Discovery Award (2017) and the MUNI Innovation Award (2021).
