Cereals are an integral part of the feed rations of farm animals. When dry feeding, the grains are crushed. Grain grinding can be performed in various ways, such as crushing, splitting, abrasion, and impact. Different equipment is used for this purpose: roller machines, mills, gear, disk and hammer crushers, etc. In Russia, the most common method of grinding grain in hammer crushers. The advantages of hammer crushers include their high reliability, simplicity of design and maintenance, while the disadvantages are high energy consumption for grain grinding and uneven granulometric composition of the finished product. Due to these shortcomings, it is important to improve the design of crushers in order to increase their productivity and reduce specific energy consumption. We have proposed a grain crusher with an increased separating surface. To study the crusher, its structural and logical scheme and research methodology were developed. In accordance with the developed scheme, the influence of the sieve area on the quantitative and energy performance of the crusher was studied, which is the purpose of this work. The research methodology was developed and a prototype of the crusher was made. The conducted research allows us to conclude that it is necessary to change the conditions for entering grain into the grinding chamber by increasing the area of the loading window, installing a mechanism for forced grain feeding or feeding grain through the center of the rotor. The throughput of end sieves when using a rotor with straight hammers is by 2...38% higher than that of peripheral sieves.

Feed production, feeding of animals and poultry is an integral part of animal husbandry and poultry farming. Proper feeding of animals and poultry, which implies the making of an optimal diet with the input of useful premixes and vitamins, can increase their productivity. In Russia the predominant type of feeding is complete feed, which includes compound feed. Regardless of the type of feed in the process of its production, it is necessary to observe the proportions of its components. Dispensers are used for dosing, which depending on the purpose, are divided into mass and volume. We have made an attempt to generalize, systematize and implement the accumulated experience in the form of a scheme that allows us to understand the principle of operation of modern systems for dosing feed components, in which augers are used as feeding mechanisms. The purpose of the research was to build a scheme for selecting parameters and develop a methodology for studying the dosage system of feed components based on it. The results of the analysis of intellectual property protection documents and scientifi c works in the fi eld of dosing have been used to make a scheme for selecting parameters of the feed components dosing system. The results of observations on the operation of the developed system under production conditions and design features have been also taken into account. As a result of the research developed the scheme of selection of the operating parameters of the dosing system, revealed its shortcomings in the form of lower dosing accuracy with the decrease in the mass of the weighed components and the long search settings when composing the new diet. The methods have been developed to address the identifi ed defi ciencies in the determination of limit values of technological parameters.

In the Russian Federation, grain molasses is gaining wide popularity when feeding farm animals. Developed technologies for its preparation include the process of heating water. Existing installations for the production of grain molasses conduct water heating in the pump due to cavitations. We proposed to use a passive chopper to speed up the process of preparing molasses and improve its quality. The article presents the description of the installation, methods of research and results of water heating in the installation. The influence of the following factors on the heating rate and power consumption was studied: distance from the nozzle to the grate, the angle of inclination of the grate. The assessment of the working process of the plant was carried out by the rate of water heating and the specific cost of electricity for its heating. As a result of research optimum parameters of the passive chopper at which heating occurs faster and with smaller expenses of the electric power are revealed. The studies of water heating in the plant for the preparation of grain molasses allow us to conclude about the possibility of intensification of the process and reducing energy costs for its implementation by changing the parameters of the grid installation. In this case, preference is given to the heating method with the use of an angled grille.

Forage from grain plays a special role in animal nutrition because it constitutes feed with a high content of readily available carbohydrates. Unfortunately, the equipment used to prepare forage is often manufactured without the necessary justification and confirmation of the declared sizes and indicators of the work process. This forms the basis for our theoretical and experimental studies. Research has been carried out to provide justification of the design and operating parameters of the patented station for producing forage from cereal crops. This article describes the technology for preparing forage from grain and provides a detailed description of the station used and the principle of its operation. During the experiments, we studied the influence of the angle α of setting the grid-work (plate) and the distance S from the nozzle to the grid-work on the quality of forage. Qualitative, quantitative, and energy indicators have been evaluated using up-to-date measuring instruments and equipment. The method is described, and the studied factors and evaluation criteria for the preparation of forage from grain are indicated. The forage quality results are presented, as determined by the content of whole grains in it via the residue on a sieve with a sieve size of 3 mm when preparing it with a different combination of the studied factors. The analysis of the energy consumption results of the process of preparing forage from grain under various operating conditions of the plant is shown. As a result, the optimal location parameters of the passive grinder have been found, allowing to obtain high-quality forage with minimal power consumption of the electric motor. A grid-work should be used as a grinder. Its installation angle should be 30°, and the distance between the grid-work and the nozzle should be 205 mm. With this combination of parameters, the specific energy consumption is minimal and amounts to 41.5 W·h/L.

We have developed an experimental setup of corn crusher of shock-reflective action. The experimental data on the impact of the loading windows location of corn crusher of shock-reflective effect on its activity were obtained. Their analyses were carried out and we identified the optimal location of the loading window, from the point of view of the of energy consumption reduction of grain refinement process. The authors studied the influence of feed delivery through the lower, upper and both loading windows simultaneously. According to the results of the experiments, we constructed graphs of energy consumption change, depending on the capacity of the crusher, during the loading the crushed feed through the top, bottom and both windows. As a result of this work it was founded that: the lowest cost crusher throughput 90 kg per hour are observed, while loading the feed through both windows; increasing the capacity over 90 kg per hour implies a sharp increase in power consumption, when applying the feed through both windows, and minimal consumption - when filing through the upper window; minimum energy fall is when feeding the feed through the top of window and hitting speed of n=2900 ... 5100 min-1. Thus revealed, that in order to reduce the energy consumption for a finished product, we must conduct further studies at loading the feed through the top window, and the rotor speed must be within n=2900 ... 5100 min-1.
