Dr. Jane Henriksen-Bulmer

Dr Jane Henriksen-Bulmer is a Principal Academic in Computing, with several years of experience in industry working as a project manager, business analyst, and researcher. She completed her PhD in Privacy in 2019 and since then has been teaching, among other things, Business Systems Analysis and Design, Privacy, Information Assurance and Business Continuity at BU. During her time at BU, Jane has worked on several outreach projects, collaborating with several external organisations and charities on research projects. Before joining the PhD programme at BU, Jane completed a MSc in Information Technology from Bournemouth University in 2015, gaining a distinction. She also holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), gained from Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia in 2013, and a first-class honours degree in Law from the Open University. Coming from an industry background, Dr Henriksen-Bulmer has a wide ranging experience of running and managing businesses and change, including business process improvement. This has strongly influenced her research topic of privacy and risk and how she can best use her research and outputs to influence, assist and support businesses in a practical manner by providing practical tools, guidance and assistance to professionals in the field.
