Prof. Dr. Piotr Kolasiński is the deputy head of the Department of Thermodynamics and Renewable Energy Sources and head of the Laboratory of Thermodynamic Processes and Thermal Properties of Materials at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical and Power Engineering of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, specializing in Thermoenergetics-Automation. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences with distinction by the Scientific Council of the Institute of Thermal Technology and Fluid Mechanics in 2010. In 2017, he obtained the degree of habilitated doctor of technical sciences. The scientific work of Prof. Piotr Kolasiński's concerns the use of advanced thermodynamic analysis methods in modeling and research of energy conversion systems from alternative sources (in particular the so-called Organic Rankine Cycle systems), the construction and operation of displacement machines, the rationalization of energy acquisition, use, and conversion processes, and hydrogen technologies.
